Canonical's Future: Enterprise or Consumer

Canonical has been pushing its Ubuntu Server Edition, but I believe that they should instead be pushing their desktop version and dropping their server version altogether, because Ubuntu has a unique advantage on the desktop that they should not abandon.

Comparing a list of gadgets that run Windows and a list of gadgets that run Linux I noticed that while the Linux list was populated with mobile devices, the Windows list was mostly... obscure junk, including an automated bartender that runs Windows XP. Asus Eee PC doing well

The Asus Eee PC, a inexpensive Linux-powered laptop, is sold out, as well as receiving great reviews, on major retail sites such as Amazon.com and Best Buy. Also, the Eee has placed near the top in Amazon's best seller list and CNET's most wanted list. This is not the first time a Linux computer has been sold out shortly after being released. The gPC, another low-cost Linux computer, was sold out a Wal-Mart shortly after it was first released.
